Investigators said 31-year-old Yorlan Rafael Reyes was booked into the Liberty County Jail on Friday, then had a medical emergency early Saturday morning.
He was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood by ambulance, but then at 5:30 a.m., authorities said he walked out of the ER, dressed in an orange jumpsuit and orange Crocs.
Investigators aren't saying what kind of security was in place in the hospital.
Records show Reyes was in jail on a felony charge of unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material.
ABC13 is working to figure out exactly what he's accused of and has requested court documents from the district clerk.
The Liberty County investigator in charge of this case said his office had received several tips that deputies were following up on, but as of now, they don't know where he is and how he managed to escape custody.
If you see him, authorities ask that you don't approach him and instead call 911.
